I started practicing Yoga in 2003, when I signed up for a six week yoga course to “get more flexible”. Little did I know it would be the beginning of a life changing path, both on and off the mat.
I moved to Switzerland from Canada in 2011, where I had worked for 20 years as a physiotherapist.
I am passionate about travelling and have been fortunate to spend a great deal of time "wandering" in Central and South America, Southeast Asia and India.
For many years, I had dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher and deepening my yoga practice. Finally I completed my 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training (RYT) with Sabina Stahl at YaYoga. I have also completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Tanja Seehofer at Atha Yoga in Zurich.
Over time my initial idea of yoga has evolved and now for me the "magic" of yoga is the connection of body, mind and spirit.
I love teaching a strong Hatha Flow class but also enjoy energetic Vinyasa flows or deep and meditative Yin classes. I teach in English or a mixture of English and German depending on the needs of the class. With my experience as a physiotherapist I try and plan classes to ensure proper alignment, give adaptations for injuries and ensure a safe environment to practice.
My studies continue as I deepen my practice in the 300hr Advanced Teacher Training at Air Yoga in Zurich, exploring the Hatha Yoga tradition, meditation, pranayama and the connections with our mind and subtle body.
I hope to share this "magic" and love of yoga with my students.
